Want to reach the top of the superbike tree? There’s no better starting point than the saddle of a TZR50. Up close there’s exquisite detailing, from the alloy footrests to the R1-style analogue tachometer with separate LCD speedo. Big disc brakes front and rear work with the beautifully engineered left-foot gearchange linkage that connects you to six perfectly-spaced ratios. Linking long, sweeping curves is especially satisfying on the TZR50 thanks to the extra stability of its 17inch wheels. The TZR50 weighs just 114kg, so manoeuvring it is child’s play.
