My baby, FZS600 Fazer
Hi, my name is Dorin and I live in Romania. This is my story about me and my 2003 FZS600 Fazer.
Hello, my name is Dorin and I'm from Romania, I originally come from R. Moldova. This is a story about my Fazer.
I have motorcycling in my blood as an inherited quality. My father was a rider from his 30 birthday, my grand-pa was a rider too, and in his time, rode on old bikes like Dnepr.
In 2007 I have purchased a Yamaha FZS600 Fazer 2003 year model and I followed the family tradition.
This Fazer made me happy from the second that I have touched him. The most interesting thing is, that I'm very thankful to my bike because, when I became a rider with my Fazer here in my town, I became a somebody.
In a few days I have made a few good, very good friends, with other riders. They are riding different types of bikes, but the most popular brand in our group is YAMAHA, because we are about 20 riders, and Yamaha is majority. We have my Fazer, 3 R6's, one of them is an 2006 R6, also we have an 2000 R1, one 2004 R1, an 2006 R1, also we have an FJR from 199?, and two Tenere. So summary is that we have 10 Yamaha's, I think with this are our Yamaha team.
On good sunny days we are all going out. Riding outside the town, in weekends we going to our local track, to burn our adrenalin.
My bike brings good positive things, like friends, and enjoying the beautiful moments with you healthy, and up on two wheels.
I want to thank Yamaha for helping our mankind to ride comfortably and obtain maximum performance.
P.S. One of my first dreams was motorcycle. This dream come true. The next one is less complex. I want an Yamaha R6. :)
My Guitar is a Suzuki...
Hi, my name is Georg F. and I live in Germany. This is my story about me and my 1995 1978_SR500, 1995_TT600S Supermotard, 1996_TT600S Enduro, 1995_YZF750R, 1988_XJ900F.
It's a pity, that I have no Yamaha Guitar, but I am still working for it, in the meantime, I would like to tell you about how happy I am with my Yamahas - they are built so good and are so easy to maintain and ride, that I can't see any cause to trade them in for newer ones - actually I would like to have a MT-01 and a WR450F Supermoto (if it had a 660 engine).... may be next year..?'
On the roads here around Stuttgart (Black Forest, Elsaß, Schwäbische Alb, Odenwald, Hohenlohe and Kraichgau) I am very much amusing myself together with my friend (TRX 850) chasing the high-revving 170 PS -plus - Superbikes and waiting for them at the Platte while I keep a coffee for them.... just kidding...!
Honestly, we are riding rather cautiously and responsible and riding smooth and decent is also a way to have some fun, as long you use the full width of your tires
So let's meet at the "Platte" and talk about our future Yamahas...!!!!
A healthy new season and relaxed carving for all of you !
UK TO ROMANIA
Hi, my name is Rodger and I live in Romania. This is my story about me and my 1998 TDM900/A TDM850.
I purchased my Yamaha TDM over the web, so took a bit of a chance really, but the dealer we bought it from was a diamond. The mileage on the bike was 26,000 but had been well maintained and cared for.
We decided to have a little ride from Southend on Sea, Essex back home to Campulung Muscel in Romania approx distance 1600 miles.
I read up about a lot of bikes, but the TDM certainly seemed to be the one for the job, especially here in Romania. Bikes need to be well built and reliable to stand up to the task on high mountain roads, with dodgy tarmac and in some places , no tarmac at all! ( its much better now though)
Anyway, fully loaded and 2 up, the bike performed brilliantly, and even after some rides of 400 miles plus in a day was still pretty comfortable. The gearbox can be a bit quirky and the twin can be a bit vibey, but once it gets going, its a bloody smooth and powerfully willing motor.
Weve had the bike since May 2005, and has been regularly used here in Romania, and made frequent visits to the awesome Transfaragas Pass. This is a must do ride...the scenery is stunning, the roads are twisty and challenging, but worth the effort, and at the top (2,400 metres) the views are something else. The pass and most of Romania is not for the novice, but experienced and sensible riders will find a new and exciting challenge. The car drivers are absolute rubbish, bordering on the suicidal, but once you get used to them and use your mirrors a lot, its fine.
The bike will shortly be having another session with the many Brit and European bikers who come and stay with us...I read once in Ride Mag, that the TDM 850 was probably the best bike you would never own...well any one who has never ridden one, has missed a real pleasure..its a great bike, and when I change it, which wont be for a long time yet, I think it will be a hard act to follow.
Well done Yahama, its the dogs b*ll*cks of a bike..Im proud to have it.
Anyone wanting info about riding in Romania, etc , we are pleased to assist if we can...or have a look at the bikers links on our site; www.visionsofromania.co.uk...
Come and have real and exciting new challenge....theres always a cup of tea waiting at our place.
Yamaha Guy
Hi, my name is Miguel and I live in United States. This is my story about me and my 2006 YZF-R6 and my WR450F.
Hello from San Francisco, California USA.
I love my Yamaha motorcycles!
But I have also owned several other Yamahas over the years. I used to own a 1990 FZR400 and also a 1999 WR400F, 1996 YZ125 and a 2002 YZ250. Currently I have a 2006 YZF-R6 and a 2004 WR450F. I use both bikes often.
For the R6 I use it primarily for the Sunday Rides in the twisties. I also take it on weekend rides to the Sierra Nevada mountains in California. I have also been able to take part in several track days with this perfect sportbike.
On my WR450, I used this bike as my Supermoto Race bike. I have performed several modifications in order to make her competitive in my amature series. I also convert her back to Enduro when I want to ride her offroad. My favorite offroad trips are usually to Death Valley Desert or Mojave Desert in California. I am also planning a trip to Baja California, Mexico with some friends.
I love my Yamahas and I look forward to many more years riding Yamahas!
The pictures were taken in San Francisco. First one on 11th Ave in SF, Calif. The second one in the California hills, and the third at the Golden Gate Bridge, SF, California. Take Care!
Our Bikes!
Hi, my name is Sonja and I live in Belgium. This is my story about me and my 2006 MT-03 SZR660.
My first Yamaha bike was a SZR660. With that bike I learned to ride. The next Yamaha bike was the new MT03 which I modified. Now I own another SZR to ride on the circuit.
I love both my Yamaha bikes.
My husband rides a Yamaha FJR 1300 and my two cars are both Fiat 500. A new one and a oldtimer 500.
We love the story of Yamaha and Fiat.
Sonja
My first love:D
Hi, my name is Mihai and I live in Romania. This is my story about me and my 2002 YZF-R6 .
This is my first bike. I think it was love at first sight. We interact perfectly and she responds immediatly to all commands. It's a well built bike although it is from 2002. I like all models of R6 but the greatest R6 is mine.
9000 miles, 24 countries
Hi, my name is Darren and I live in United Kingdom. This is my story about me and my 2008 XT660Z Tenere.
In August 2008, me and my trusted steed are setting off to ride 9000 miles through 24 European countries in around 25 days - That's Iron Butt Territory if ever there was! The full story is on my website - www.smokingtailpipes.com.
Why? I hear you ask, I'm raising funds for ChildLine, a UK Childrens charity for those in distress or danger.
This is certainly a baptism of fire for the new Tenere, as the bike has only been out a few months it will certainly be a good test.
You can find out more, including a daily Blog, once the trip is underway by visiting the website.
Lucky and Enjoying it!
Hi, my name is Luka and I live in Croatia. This is my story about me and my 2006 YBR125 .
Hi, my name is Luka and I live in Croatia and I'm 18.
On wednesday 26th July 2006 I bought my first Yamaha bike. There was no greater luck when I took my first ride on it. It's been two years from then and still I'm happy when I'm riding it. I passed 20,000 km without accidents or engine damage. I like my bike as much as I enjoy riding it!
Cannonball Bike Run 2006 !
Hi, my name is Nikita and I live in Belgium. This is my story about me and my 2004 YZF-R1 .
Hi everyone,
My name is Nikita Bruynooghe, I am a 35 year old guy from Belgium and this is my story is about the Cannonball Bike run and my Yamaha R1 that keeps me happy!!
Me and my R1 did the Cannonball Bike Run in August 2006 and what a ride it was! 4500km in five days from Belgium to Wurzburg (Germany) to St. Moritz (Switzerland), to Venice (Italy) to Zagreb (Croatia) to Salzburg (Austria) and back home to Belgium.
I came in " 4th place of 75 "and the Yamaha R1 was the perfect bike for the job. I have already signed up for the Cannonball Bike Run 2007 and I am looking forword to buying and riding the new 2007 R1 model.
I will not be selling my 2004 model because my wife will be riding that one - who knows !?
I hope when I'm 65 year's old I will be still riding the new yamaha R1 2037 model ??
Greetings to all of you.
Yamaha - For life
Hi, my name is Morgan and I live in Sweden. This is my story about me and my 2005 YZF-R1, 2000 YZF-R6 and 1998 YZF-R1.
Hi!
My name is Morgan, and this is My Story.
I am 34 years old and live in Sweden. I have always been fascinated by motorcycles, and when I was 3 years old I got my first bike, it was a black and white 50cc motocross machine.
Since that day I have never been without a motorcycle!
When I was 14, I bought myself a brand new Yamaha DT 50 MX and it was on that day that I discovered the beauty of owning a Yamaha.
Since then, Ii haven't owned any other brand of motorcycle than Yamaha's.
In fact, I was so satisfied with my DT 50 that I one year later traded it in for the all new - 88 Yamaha DT 125 R. And that Yamaha feeling was just the same as on my 50cc DT. Superb! I had a lot of fun with this bike and kept it for several years.
The year of 2000, I was choosing between buying the YZF-R1 or the YZF-R6. At the time I thought the R6 had better looks then the R1, so I went for a new R6, and looking back now, I think I made the right choice.
On this machine I discovered the beauty of track days, I rode it round courses like the old GP-course "Anderstorp" in Sweden, and perhaps it was a bit slow against the 1000cc machines on the straight, it was very easy round the curves. 2004 I got my road racing license riding the R6 round the "Gelleråsen" track.
2005 - Even though I was very satisfied with my R6, my interest for the R1 kept growing, so at the early summer of 2005, I bought my self a brand new blue and white YZF-R1. From day 1 I recognized that great feeling that I have felt on all my previous machines!
I kept the R6, and now my wife rides it, and she loves the machine as much as I do.
In the late summer of 2005, me and some friends decided to compete in the Nordic Endurance road racing series, all that was missing now was a bike. After a while we found it, it was a -98 YZF-R1 that had been rolling for 55000 kilometers, where of only 5000 of them were non-racing!
So it had done some laps round the tracks, but it was well taken cared of.
With this bike we ended up on a 42nd place out of 90 in the series, and we were happy with the result as it was our debut in racing.
Well, this was My Story -So far!
Best regards
Morgan
30 Years A Yamaha Owner
Hi, my name is Colin and I live in United Kingdom. This is my story about me and my 2002 YZF-R6 1999 Fazer 600.
Hi, My name is Colin and I have owned Yamaha's since I was 17, at 16 you could ride a moped here in the UK and the FS1E was available but I chose the Suzuki AP50 because it had a "Real" gearbox set-up of 1 down 4 up instead of 4 down, plus the Suzi had oil injection instead of pre-mix, it was a good laugh watching my mates shake their bikes from side to side to get the oil and petrol mixed before starting.
My first real bike at 17 was a Yam RD250E 1978 model in silver, it was 3 months old when I bought it and soon had the obligatory "ace bars" and hame made expansion chambers fitted, "Just like King Kennys", the following years progressed to numerous RD400s after passing my test, the 350LC came out in 1980, but to be honest it wasn't much quicker than a good 400, in the early 80s I dabbled with putting my 400 motor into a TZ350 frame along with 34mm carbs, swarbrick pipes and the barrels bored out to fit TZ750 pistons thus taking the CCs to roughly 430, I took it to Knockhill and it just flew, even a power valve that was there at the time struugled to keep up with me.
Then reality kicked in and I settled down and got married, but still kept my "RZ430" plus another 400 I'd picked up to run on the road, but by now kids were filling the house and I resorted to selling all my bikes and bits, I think the 430 is still sitting in a box somewhere in Aberdeen, after a few years I was back on a bike again, this time it was a 1991 RD350YPVS, a real treat to ride so refined compared to the vicious powerband of the 430, then in 2002 I got my first 4-stroke, it was a Fazer 600, my only other ride of a 4-stroke was a 1979 Honda Superdream, not a very nice experience, but the FZS600 was a brilliant bike and soon had Ohlins fitted front and rear, full Micron exhaust and renthal bars.
Then 2 years ago I got a 2002 R6which has brought me full circle to my old RD days with the clip-ons and rearset footrests, unfortunately the Fazer is up for sale but I hope to keep the R6 for a long time, and I hope to be still riding Yamahas for a long time yet, my brother-in-law also has bikes at the moment he has a Suzuki RF600R which I am presently rebuilding for him, but he had an RD200 and it was he that bought my 350 when I got my Fazer,
To South Asia On A TDM
Hi, my name is athula and I live in United Kingdom. This is my story about me and my 2006 TDM900/A .
Hi all,
We would like to share with you my wife and I's little adventure of riding overland to South East Asia on a Yamaha TDM 900 with all the Yamaha fans.
We have been travelling for 7 months now and still have couple of months to go. We have set up a blogger site to share our experience with our friends and family and hope you will enjoy it as well.

Loving it!
Hi, my name is Mike and I live in South Africa. This is my story about me and my 1982 XS1.1.
Hi there, I'm 50 this year & haven't ridden a bike for about 20 years.
Always had Kawasaki's when I was a youngster (250, 650, 1000, offroads, etc.) Late last year I decided it was time to get back on a bike again aand by chance came across a '82 XS1.1 shaft drive. I was never a Yammie fan, but since this was a real bargain I decide to buy it anyway.
Well, she's absolutely fantastic!; strong, smoooth, comfortable, reliable - everyting still works on her!. I use her to work & back everyday, covering about 60 kms; my daughter goes on the back to school - I've even got her so enthusiastic, she's hoping to get a Yammie scooter when she turns 17 in July.
This is really a great bike - in it's day is was an icon - today whenever the older bikers see us, they walk up & sing the praises to a great bike!
Now I'm looking forward to getting the new R1 in the near future.
I'm loving it!
MT-01
Hi, my name is Gileam and I live in South Africa. This is my story about me and my 2006 MT-01.
My first real bike was a new '77 Yamaha XT500. That bike made me a faithful Yamaha supporter for life! Since then, besides an YZ250 and a YZ490, I owned an FJ1100 and then a Thunderace. All great bikes that I really enjoyed and gave me nothing but pleasure. My latest bike is an MT-01.
Initially I thought it will slow me down now and that I can enjoy a more relaxed type of riding, as I am now 51 years old. To my surprise it handles so well that I am still scratching in my favorite mountain pass and it still provokes the boy racer in me! I love the deep throbbing sound and the torque catapulting me out of the corners. It is so much fun riding it and I am actually looking forward every morning to go to work on my bike.
Thank you Yamaha for providing bikes that makes live a joy!

BOL DOR 203
Hi, my name is João and I live in Portugal. This is my story about me and my 2003 TDM900/A .
In 2003 I decided to go to “Bol d’Or” in France. I went wiht my friend Zé Antonio, he lives in St Etienne. The journey was an adventure, particularly after Valencia, where for the first time I tried out the famous strong wind: Mistral. When we arrived at the circuit of Magny Cours, I saw 90 000 persons. This image was magnificent.
I never seen so many people on my life, and every one was here to see the race. All shows were very interesting, but the 24 Hour Race was a phenomenal spectacle, especially the braking on Adelaide turning. Do not forget that each lap around the track should be in very few minutes.
The return journey was done by the same way, Barcelona, Valencia, but this time without the Mistral wind. During this entire fantastic journey I was accompanied by my TDM (since 2003) and no problems at all. I have my TDM since 2003 with, at the moment, 50 000 kilometres, as good as new, spotless and no technical problems. It continues faithful, and better them a dog. It only does not bark of satisfaction!

The dream of my life!!!
Hi, my name is Silvia and I live in Bulgaria. This is my story about me and my 2004 FZ6.
Finally, it came true!!!
My name is Silvia and I come from Bulgaria! Ever since the new Fazer came out in 2004, I totally fell for it and I simply knew it was my bike...
Well, finally it has become a reality: after 10 quests or so to look at different Fazers for sale, I found the one.
The FZ6 is an extraordinary machine: as far as both balance and engine run are concerned! After a few hundred kilonmeters I felt as though I was born on that bike...
I'm enjoying every single ride as though it was my first :)
First ride of summer...
Hi, my name is Randy and I live in United Kingdom. This is my story about me and my 2005 YZ250.
My story is about my first ride of the season it was a little cold for the 2-strokes but the blue in my veins beat the blue in my toes. I called up my fellow Yamy-lovers and we blazed new trails all day long hiting sand pits, fireroads, and anywhere our bikes would hall us. 5th gear all the way and soaring where we could get the air.
I wouldn't drive anything else but my Yamaha and I've infected everyone around me, its all true blue here.
Pictures take in Canada.
MY LOVELY BIKE

I have a bike to do it with
Hi, my name is Chris and I live in United Kingdom. This is my story about me and my 2006 FJR1300A .
Hi there I thought I would let you see what I did with my brand new bike after picking it up at the Yamaha dealer in sunny Fife...
I do say sunny as 10 minutes after getting the keys it poured down with very heavy rain all the way to my home in Edinburgh. On 14th September myself and 4 other bikers rode all the way down to Dover, to cross the channel into France with the aim to ride to Germany. We planned on staying in Belgium before heading to Germany so we could arrive fresh after the many miles.
Where were we going ....
Nurburgring for 5 nights delving into the black forrest and sunny rides down the side of the Rhine. Arriving in Germany we found our rental house and settled in for our week of fun. As we had passed a biker cafe at the end of our street we descided to pay a visit for a well earned beer. It turned out to be one of the best moves we have made on any biking tours we have done. We stumbled in on a Cafe at Leimbach what a lovely place and the warmest welcome to any weary travelers. With a lovely house to stay in and a great place to have food n beer we were all set for the days ahead fun.
Armed with tour maps given to us by our new second home in the cafe we set of to find the wonders of Germany so where best to start ...hmmm THE RING. I was a little tense taking the bike on the first run but the FJR settled my nerves and took the corners in her stride. After returning to the carpark and taking the usual pictures I took of again for a faster run along the ring. The FJR flew around the course and easily dealt with my late braking on some of the tighter corners as I whizzed around.
The following days we're spent riding around the Rhine areas following the curves and sweeping bends that came on a regular basis. This was the type of roads we came to ride and with the locals letting us past it was fantastic place to be. Sadly with all fantastic holidays it had to end and the long ride back home to the buetiful shores of Scotland.
But I have one thought about my Yamaha FJR and my future touring plans......I have the bike to do it with!
Yamaha paradise

Motorcycle Equals Freedom
Hi, my name is Tamás and I live in Hungary. This is my story about me and my 2000 XVS650A DragStar Classic.
Hi Everyone from Hungary!
In the summer of 2006 my wife and I (on a XVS650) and a friend of ours (on a GS500) went on a tour with two bikes.
We started from Budapest, Hungary. The first day we arrived to a camping in Austria not far from the Hungarian border. In Austria we drove 2000 kilometres through the mountains. It was ten magnificent day of my life. As you can see on the pictures we took everything with us that we needed except for food.
For us motorcycling means freedom and joy. We climbed a lot of mountains on steep winding roads. And you can have fun with less than 50 hp. Our bikes did the job very well. I am very pleased with my 650-DragStar. It is the most beautiful motorcycle you can buy.
I had planned to buy a new one in 2008 but unfortunately Yamaha does not have this model any more.
You can be fast but you can never beet the law of physics!
Safe touring to everyone!

From Guatemala to Montana
Hi, my name is Alfonso and I live in Guatemala. This is my story about me and my 2006 FZ1 .
My name is Alfonso, and since I was 11 years old I have wanted to make a trip on my bike to the United States, and now that I am 52, I have made it.
From Guatemala City to Montanna in the USA, it was a dream come true! My Yamaha FZ1 was impeccable all the way, absolutely no problem in 15,000 kms. The people in the USA was amazed with my licence plate from Guatemala, some of them thought Guatemala was in Africa, not in Central America!!
On my trip I passed through Mexico, Texas and Colorado deserts and freezing conditions in the Rocky Mountains, but my FZ1 go with any problem and very comfortable.
I will go back next year. With 150h.p. my FZ1 also knows the race track and is as fast as it is comfortable, what a bike, it can do everything, from race track, commuting and touring all in one package.
WELL DONE YAMAHA!!!
R1 Pussycat
Hi, my name is Robert and I live in United Kingdom. This is my story about me and my 2005 YZF-R1.
During the night she sleeps, when morning comes I wake her from her lair. The air is crisp and fresh, gently I wheel her to the roadside. I press a button, she growls and stretches, then purrs with delight. I climb upon her back; she bites down on the asphalt and bounds towards the back roads. Air brushes against my face, the road streaks beneath her wheels, her sleek lines cut effortlessly through the early morning mist. She pounces from corner to corner pressing into the bends and leaning down to brush the road surface. As the road opens up she roars and sprints to catch the horizon, tirelessly we ride together, trees rushing past blurring into a green mosaic of colours. Eventually time prevails, returning homeward she delivers me safely back, she purrs as I lead her to her den, she’s warm, she rests, and once again she sleeps.
Trip on an Aerox
Hi, my name is Aleksandar and I live in Macedonia. This is my story about me and my 2005 .
One day driving along the streets I’ve said to myself “Why I don’t go on a trip?"
The first destination was a place called “Radovis” 27km from my town. I’ve got there 30 minutes later. Next thing that I wanted to visit was an ancient place Stobi near the river Vardar. The first 20 kilometers of the 56 kilometer long road was through a 1100 meter high mountain. The scooter was at good shape and there weren’t any problems at all.
I wanted to go to somewhere on a beach. The only place I can only remebered in that moment was The Ohrid Lake. I started driving at 5 AM because I have to drive 164km. The next day I found a place to sleep and I stayed there for 5 days. When I’ve got back on the road the weather was bad and I were driving 18 hours through 7 cities and 240 kilometers.

She rides as passanger but still she is very keen on riding more. The picture we send to you is taken at "Sognefjell (N)" Juli 05 on the second day of our holiday. SNOW in summer :-) Lots of it! rest of the holiday was very nice with sun, sun, sun and lovely riding weather.
A trip around nothern Europe
Hi, my name is Mans and I live in Sweden. This is my story about me and my Viragos .
My girlfriend and I got our motorcycle drivers licenses last year, and had actually both bought our Viragos while we were still training for the drivers test. Well, as we had the permits and our bikes the summer holiday this year was naturally spent riding around northern Europe. We drove down through Sweden, through Poland, Germany and Denmark, and finished off with a 3-day bike festival on the way home. A fantastic way to discover Europe!
Beatiful Life
Hi, my name is Fotis and I live in Greece. This is my story about me and my 2002 .
Watching a sunset with my women of my life, ANASTASIA and TDM 900.We where for holidays to Kefalonia the summer of 2002 and it was the first trip for my TDM. It was a peaceful place so I put my camera on a tripod and I admired the moment of the ending of one more beautiful day.
Life is beautiful when you have the wind at your feet. TDM 900!
R1 races: My dream
Hi, my name is José Antonio and I live in Spain. This is my story about me and my 2000 YZF-R1.
I am 34 years old. I always wanted to ride a motorbike in a circuit, but I never had money enough to do it.
Two years ago, I decided to try it. I took my old bike, from the 80´s, and I joined a track day. In this moment I discovered that this was what I want to do on forwards every week-end. Two months later I bought a Yamaha R1 2000 (I believe it is the most similar motorbike to a GP bike) and I joined Challenge Yamaha R1 in Spain.
First season I was not experienced enough to push the R1 to the engine red line, but I was qualified for Championship Finals. I finished the last, but I enjoyed it a lot. Last year, more experienced, I was qualified again for the finals and finished 19th in the overall ranking.
This year I will try to be in the podium. That is my dream and that is why I am training every day. Furthermore, next season I will have my brother´s help. He has bought another R1 and we will be competing together.
Looking for unfulfilled dreams
Hi, my name is Ludy and I live in The Netherlands. This is my story about me and my 1980 .
When I started biking in 1963 and visited the races and watched the famous riders of the day I dreamed.....
Now finally after all these years I started "Classic Demo Racing" last year at the ripe age of 60!
This bike is a rare 1976 TZ350C with a frame constructed by Alex McFadzean, who worked for Colin
Seeley in the U.K. In its days it set 3 lap records with Tony Rutter as rider. Of course I am much slower and able to smile or sing a song when I am "racing"!
My "stable" now consists out of a couple more racers, so I can swap bikes from event to event. I feel that I can continue this marvelous hobby for another 30 years!
My only concern is whether I have enough racing parts to last me through that period!
Grean, mean and mine!
Hi, my name is Karl and I live in Sweden. This is my story about me and my 2003 FJR1300A.
My first contact with the bike of my dreams made a great impression: powerful and beautiful, yet not a hysterical racing replica nor a conventional, clumsy tourer.
On the first test-drive my heart said YES!
On the second test-drive my wife said YES! Even though my wallet said NO, I recently became a proud owner of a mistral green and mean machine called FJR1300A. My new Yamaha is like bestriding a tiger. She purrs satisfied when you take it ease, but you always have the feeling of raw and untamed power in this beautiful beast.
And I love it!
The ride is the reason!
Hi, my name is walther and I live in Sweden. This is my story about me and my 2003 .
The many rides on my divvy (Yamaha Diversion) gives me great pleasure - always new aspects of life, new ideas and new relationships to both people and countries and multiple connections to interesting places all over the world - and it have never let me down! I like my divvy very much!
A Royal Journey through France
Hi, my name is Jules and I live in Belgium. This is my story about me and my 1996 .
When I saw the original Royal Star XVZ 1300 with its four exhaust pipes for the first time back in 1996, it was love at the first sight. I bought it and upgraded the bike with saddlebags and a lot of other outstanding accessories from the Yamaha-catalogue.
This wonderful bike just loves to ride on those well-curved D-roads throughout France. This picture was taken during an 11-day trip through this beautiful country. I hereby salute all my fellow Royal Star riders, remembering Keats who said: A thing of beauty is a joy forever.
Un dia aburrido
Hi, my name is Jorge and I live in Spain. This is my story about me and my 2000 FZ6 Fazer ABS.
I wake up early in the morning and... that´s it!!
I call the office and say something like 'I don´t feel all right'.
I put on my apparel and go like a bullet to the garage. I'm ready to spend a perfect day, with the perfect weather and with the ideal partner. Engine on and I am on my way, a way to nowhere, but I don´t mind about it, I don´t know where I´m going, I just think about how I'm getting there, it´s very simple, "carpe diem".
The pleasure of finding new roads, going fast or slow, just ride and enjoy, 10, 100 or 500km, never mind. That´s the way I can define a "GOOD DAY".
Track day
Hi, my name is Bas and I live in The Netherlands. This is my story about me and my 2000 YZF-R1.
I knew the R1 was fast, but boy is it fast when you have the chance to take it to a circuit, rev it to 12.000 rpm, exiting the corners, struggling to keep the front wheel down on the asphalt.
Never knew you could throw the bike this fast into a corner, but then again the conditions on the public road are never this good.
Thanks to Yamaha Motor Netherlands for a great day, this was definitely a day to remember, and I hope many track days will follow!
Searching for space
Hi, my name is Pierre and I live in Portugal. This is my story about me and my 2001 FJR1300A.
It isn’t easy living in a 760 square kilometre island when you own a Yamaha FJR 1300.
This great touring bike makes the island feel smaller. That’s why every year I ship my FJR from the Azores to mainland Europe to take some large tours, trying to find the space and horizons my island unfortunately can’t offer me.
Last year I travelled 9.000 km from Lisbon to Budapest and back, going through 8 European countries in 3 weeks. This year I aim at another 10.000 km tour from Lisbon to Kristiansund, in Norway, and back, passing by yet another 9 countries. It may sound silly to someone living on a continent but you can’t imagine the pleasure I get from riding a whole day in Europe, covering more than 1.000 kilometres, without seeing the sea!
The wrong continent
Hi, my name is Jacques and I live in United States. This is my story about me and my 1999 YZF-R1.
The right bike on the wrong continent.
After years of riding Yamahas, (from trials to RD 350’s) I still had not fulfilled my dream of emulating my heroes (Lawson,Mamola) on a circuit, due to the shortage of accessible race tracks in Canada.
In 1999, I purchased an R1 for the sole purpose of doing track days. After 4 years of practice at a local track (that all you guys in Europe would surely not call a true circuit), I managed to place 3rd in a 4 hours Endurance race which was the 2002 Eastern Canadian Superbike Series Ender.
The best day of my life!
Unfortunately this personal achievement still doesn’t change the fact that I can’t help but feel I was born on the wrong continent. Ejoy your beautiful European circuits and by the way,
a great big thanks to Yamaha for years of trouble free performance and excitement.
R1 forever!!!!
Jacques de Léry, 38 years young.
R1 can also be touring bike!
Hi, my name is Marjo and I live in Belgium. This is my story about me and my 2001 YZF-R1.
I bought my R1 in September 2001. Went with some friends on vacation to Italy, Garda Lake, in 2002. It was a 1-week holiday; I packed my stuff in a fuel tank bag and 2 bags that I strapped on my buddy seat.
We made a few nice mountain passes, like the Stilfserjoch, altitude 2760 metres with 87 hairpins! Travelled alone back home, and made on my way back a detour trough Austria, were I also grabbed a few mountain passes. Left Italy at 7.30u in the morning, and came back home in Belgium at 22.30u in the evening, after 1250 kilometres and only stopping for fuel along the way. Who said that an R1 is not a touring bike? :-)
In 2003, I travelled to Austria for a week, I also passed Italy and Switzerland. Rode 3800 kilometres in 1 week. Later that year, I drove to Scotland for a weekend. In September 2003, my bike became 2 years, and already had 40000 kilometres on the counter...
Yamaha R1 Rules!
Hi, my name is Davy and I live in Belgium. This is my story about me and my 2006 YZF-R1.
For the second time we went on holiday with our motorbike, so you see a R1 also can be very practical to go on holiday with!
This is also my second R1, and I'm still very happy with it ...
Two and Half Times Around the World
Hi, my name is Patrick and I live in Switzerland. This is my story about me and my 1994 Scooter Majesty YP 250.
Two and Half Times Around the World
Once upon a time, in 1997, I saw a blue Yamaha majesty scooter at a Yamaha merchant. I immediately had a crush on her and a few days later, I was able to proudly purchase my new vehicle. Of course, I took my wife for a lot of rides with me and we enjoyed, and still enjoy the rides, especially in beautiful weather.
In spring 1998 our son was born and suddenly I had to make a decision. What should I do with my “blue love”? Should I sell her? No of course not. I couldn’t imagine a life without my scooter and then I read in a magazine that side cars for scooters were available on the market. As soon as I could, I did a test drive and I immediately found the solution to my problem.
At the age of 12 months of my son, we went to a helmet store and the shop assistant showed me a lot of helmets. When I said that I had found the helmets to be a little bit too big for my son, the assistant couldn’t close her mouth for a moment. Friendly, she asked if I was really sure that I wanted to buy a helmet for the little one. I explained the situation and she agreed smiling that is was necessary for my son to wear a helmet in the side car.
In 1999 I was ready to attach the side car to my majesty. It looked funny, my boy sitting in the side car with his teddy bear on a leash and his helmet as big as he was. Now, seven years later, he still loves to ride by side car and see the environment from a different angle. The team of a side car and scooter still looks great and we also enjoy the people’s look on their faces when we are driving around in a party of three.
I usually drive to work by Yamaha and make it at least 40 km a day. I ride my majesty every day, summer and winter. I’m so happy with it. Now, my scooter has nearly 100’000 km on the counter. This means I have circled the earth nearly two and half times without major problems.
Isn’t that gorgeous? I hope that I’m able to circle the earth one more time…
My life
Hi, my name is Attila and I live in Hungary. This is my story about me and my 2000 .
Now I'm 20 but when I was 15 years old, I decided riding my motor bike was my favorite hobby, but on the other hand it's much more than a simple hobby, it's a way of life, a life style. When you drive your motor bike on the road, you feel alive, you connect with life, the energy, the power, the love, everything that's around you. You think it's the best moment of your life and your only hope is that it never ends!
Best ever
Hi, my name is Geert and I live in Belgium. This is my story about me and my 2000 YZF-R6.
My best holiday took me and my R6 to Austria & Italy..
Small mountain roads..
Twisting from left to right..
Icluding the timmelsjoch, hantenjoch and Stelvio passes...
Never enjoyed motorcycling more then those moments...
Too bad I had to return home again at the end of the holidays...
But... I will be back... ;-)
old love never dies
Hi, my name is Trond and I live in Norway. This is my story about me and my 1986 .
Back in 1986 when I was going to buy my first bike, I fell suddenly in love. With a 1986 Royal Star Venture. This was too expensive for me to buy at that moment, so I bought a Yamaha XJ 600 instead. Over the years I have only ever had Yamaha bikes. My last one was a Virago 750, and last summer my son and I travelled around in Europe and in the Alps. I sold the Virago last month, because I have fell in love again, and couldn’t combine the love and my Virago. So I sold it, and my love and I are in perfect harmony. Yes you guessed it - I found my 1986 Royal Star Venture 1300 xvz again, and this time I got the money. I’m already looking forward to next summer when we’re going on a loooong vacation together.
In Down Under
Hi, my name is Bridges and I live in Switzerland. This is my story about me and my 1998 .
My Yamaha love affair first began back in Australia with a XT500, the golden wheels and silver tank really made it stand out from the rest. After years of riding it around the Hinterlands on the Gold Coast QLD chasing Kangaroos, missing Wombats and many a trip to Rainbow Beach dodging shore breakers and coming a buster in the soft sand, it finally died SOB, SOB. But my love never did, I lovingly restored it back to it’s former glory. Unfortunately a week later it was stolen, never to be seen again. Years passed and my love was revamped when I rode a XT600E, and her little sister DT125R which I have fully restored over the last 6 months. The 600E is a really excellent bike to ride around the Suisse Alps where I now live.
Me and my Fazer 600
Hi, my name is Mandy and I live in The Netherlands. This is my story about me and my 2003 FZ6 Fazer ABS.
I've ridden my 2003 Yamaha Fazer 600 since 2003. And because I am only 1.60m tall I have searched long and hard for the perfect model and match to my height. But I found the Yamaha Fazer! The height was perfect and so was the power! So wow I found a cool and fast bike for a reasonable price. One thing is for sure I will not be giving my baby away!
The start of something great!
Hi, my name is Truls and I live in Norway. This is my story about me and my 1997 .
Summer 2004 I rode my YZF600R "Thundercat" on the E6 road from Trondheim City back to my birthplace Bø i Vesterålen in Northern Norway. My first bike and my first real long haul (960 k) became a trip I will never forget. "The Cat" truly is a sports-touring machine, and the miles just flew by accompanied by the breath-taking scenery and awesome twisting roads that Norway has to offer. There is nothing quite like riding in the light of the midnight sun..... This picture was taken at 1am. Experience Norway!
Free Like the Wind
Hi, my name is Jose and I live in United States. This is my story about me and my 2002 .
When I was 5 Years old I was introduced to a motorcycle and when I was 18 I bought my first bike, I rode almost every day, then I got married and life changed, 10 years went by and I decided to get back on 2 wheels, I searched for the perfect bike and I found it, a 2002 Yamaha Warrior, let me tell you, what a bike! Then I decided to include my wife so I traded the Warrior for a 2005 Roadstar Midnight. My wife and I ride every chance we get, I love the feeling that the V Twin Engine gives me when I twist my wrist, massive power and comfort, no other bike comes even close! I miss the Warrior from time to time and now with the introduction of the MT-01 I have decided to work as hard as possible to get one!
My Best Holiday
Hi, my name is Alfredo and I live in Spain. This is my story about me and my 1989 .
Ever since I met my wife Roxane in 1997, she'd never really liked motorcycles. In October 2002 she was diagnosed with terminal carcinoma, with a 1-year life expectancy.
To complicate things more, I crashed my Fazer in February 2002, we thought we never see each other again, but my wife's surgery was a complete success and after 4 months of recovery I was also myself getting better.
I bought a second-hand FJ 3CV in July 2003, my 3rd FJ, and we did a marvellous 15 days trip. My wife thought differently about motorbikes after she rode on the back of the FJ. So much so, that her dream was to travel to Germany on the 2004 FJ´s 30 years anniversary. But the cruel illness came back in October 2003 and my loved Roxane passed away in October 2004, after an horrible year.
Today, I still own my (our) much cared for FJ, and each time I ride my bike I remember how much she enjoyed it. The photo that I enclosed is a tribute to my loved wife, in a gas petrol at the way to Andorra.
Freedome in 45km/h
Hi, my name is Marcus and I live in Sweden. This is my story about me and my 2005 .
One summer's day a friend and I were bored. So we decided to take our 45 km/h scooters out for a run. Let's see your grandmother and surprise her was the suggestion! Yeah ! So early in the morning we hit the road, with our scooters filled to the limit with useful stuff. We drove and drove and my scooter never got tired. We had to take a break with a big hamburger at McDonalds later on. We drove 250 kilometres in half a day! Guess she got surprised when she saw two 15 year old boys with their scooters at her front door 250 km from were we lived. A memory I will remember for always.

I have learned..
Hi, my name is Nermina and I live in Bosnia Herzegovina. This is my story about me and my 2003 .
To be old and wise you first need to be young and foolish.
Not long ago I started my search to find out what really makes adrenalin run through my veins and makes me feel alive! I tried mountain climbing, skiing, got my driving license but nothing really made my heart pound.
What was I looking for? Then I discovered the magic of motor biking. The power of speed, nothing expresses more my feeling of freedom and independence than me riding my Yamaha. It makes me feel alive!
