YAMAHA CELEBRATES: New model range marks 40th year in snowmobile business
The history of Yamaha snowmobiles stretches back to1968 and the story has been one of constant innovation, from the introduction of the legendary SL350, the first snowmobile with oil-injection, to the first four-stroke ever to win the WPSA PowerSports Snowmobile tour. Yamaha is widely recognized today as one of the premier manufacturers of motor-sports products in the world, and its snowmobiles are no exception. With the release of its 2008 models, Yamaha not only marks its 40th anniversary in the snowmobile market, but also confirms its leadership. The unmatched track record of technological advancement, engineering excellence and benchmark performance has resulted in a stunning new line-up.

Following the release last spring of the new and very distinctive Phazer, Yamaha has decided it’s time to bring even more excitement to all snowmobile enthusiasts, from first-time buyers to the hardcore racers and adventurers. The all-new FX Nytro® series benefits from all the lessons learned from snocross projects, which have been incorporated directly into its advanced design and engineering. From the new Genesis® 130FI engine, to the layout of the ergonomics and the design of the all-new Dual Shock™ Pro rear suspension, this snowmobile truly has its roots in racing. The RS Vector returns to the line-up, but now with the remarkable and lightweight Deltabox™ II chassis, which has comfortable, rider-forward posture as its primary design objective. The 2008 range is completed by the high-performance RX-1, Phazer and RS Venture models, ensuring that there is a Yamaha snowmobile for every type of rider and riding style.

To celebrate its 40th year in the snowmobile business, Yamaha will be releasing a limited number of models finished in a special 40th Anniversary red/white paint and graphic scheme.

With its outstanding 4-stroke line-up, Yamaha is taking great steps in meeting the core needs of every snowmobile user, proving its commitment to expanding the user-base and building the sport in a responsible way.
